She graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Science, and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours, before completing dual specialist fellowships in clinical and laboratory haematology. Her training included major tertiary services at The Alfred, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Northern Health and St John of God Pathology in Geelong.
Dr Manitta is the Obstetric Haematology Lead at Northern Health and also provides obstetric haematology care at Mercy Hospital for Women. Alongside her clinical work, she practices as a laboratory haematologist with Northern Health Pathology, where her work includes interpretation of blood films and bone marrow specimens. This combined clinical and diagnostic perspective is particularly valuable when investigating abnormal blood counts, anaemia, clotting or bleeding problems, haemoglobin disorders and complex haematological results. She is committed to collaborative, evidence-based care and works closely with GPs, physicians, surgeons and obstetric teams.
Dr Manitta’s combined clinical and laboratory haematology practice allows her to integrate complex diagnostic results with individualised patient management.
Special Interests:
Thrombosis and haemostasis, obstetric haematology, venous thromboembolism protocols and the interface between palliative care and haematological malignancy. Dr Manitta has published on symptom burden and palliative care in patients with haematological cancers.
